Bunches to say

First
Joke of the day, from Reel Wm Fish

"I recently asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be president some day.

Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, "If you were president what would be the first thing you would do?"

She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."Her parents beamed.

"Wow... what a worthy goal." I told her, "But you don't have to wait until you're president to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where homeless guys hang out, and you can give them the $50, you earned, to use toward food and a new house."

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"

I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

Her parents still aren't speaking to me."

However, I say (in good faith) that it is a joke, but with RWF it is hard to say, this might have actually happened!

Second - I heard this song on the XM kids radio station. I had to look it up to see IF it was a real word and if it was scrabble usable. Unfortunatly for me, it is a real, word and I am not fond of the meaning. LOL. Here goes:

qat - (noun) the leaves of the shrub Catha edulis which are chewed like tobacco or used to make tea; has the effect of a euphoric stimulant; "in Yemen kat is used daily by 85% of adults"

Song of the day, "People are Crazy" Billy Currington - I have finally heard a country song that means something! I love this song. I heard it today and if nothing else, click that link and check out the lyrics! I got a grin on hearing it eariler but missed the end of it. When I read the lyrics a minute ago, it is kind of sad, but still a cute song from a Hottie!

Quote of the day, "If we discover a desire within us that nothing in this world can satisfy, also we should begin to wonder if perhaps we were created for another world." C. S. Lewis on Mere Christianity. (1898 - 1963)

On to the Blog

I cleared all of that stuff out of my catche and forgot what I was going to say. HA.

I read in the news that Billy Mays died today. My goodness, so many people are dying all the sidden, I don't know if I will ever get to posting my two cents on them. For those that don't know, Billy Mays is the obnoxious guy that does the Oxi-Clean commercials.

We picked up the children and have spent the weekend with them. I think they are adjusting OK. Lucy has decided that she loves Doc. Doc has decided that he has to set a few rules down. Like... LMFAO... NO Lucy in the bathroom when he is trying to potty, take a shower, and get ready for work. Hee Hee. You should have heard her yesterday. She threw a fit. After we removed Lucy from the bathroom several times I told Doc to just lock the door. This he did, and Lucy pitched a tissy fit. I thought she was going to kick the door down. I don't know what I did now, but I managed to sway her into leaving the door alone! Then she pitched a fit when Doc went to work. Cute or what?

Other than that, it has been uneventful for the kids being here. They both seem to like it and love the kittens. They both drag the poor kittens all over the place. The female kitten, Shasta, is not too crazy about that idea and meow's in protest (A LOT) about it, and the little boy, Alvin the LL-mizer, just goes along with it like he is a dog. But payback is a bitch, Alvin pounced on Lucy in the middle of the night and woke her up and then hid. Little (insert bad word that starts with F and ends with "er"). Which meant I had to stay up with her for a few hours. Grumble grumble bitch bitch.

Molly is doing really good at adjusting. Sue had said that Molly was back to square one with forgetting things. And when we picked her up, she was really flighty and forgetful. She did better yesterday. Today I didn't have a problem at all. She helped with chores (not that I got a lot done because I spent 3 hours on the phone between Sue and Brian). LOL.

I will have pissed off kittens tomorrow. I bought a water bottle today to spray the kittens with when they bother the bird. Swatting at them with the fly swatter don't work and I really don't want to hit them.

I have not had the time to research the stuff on Michael Jackson or on Farrah Fawcet yet. Maybe I will get to that tomorrow. I developed a head ache @ the store today and I am nursing that and just don't feel up to a lot of reading. I am going to stop by and peer at a few blogs but taht is about it.

Besot by ATL again

First, Jan, I have not forgot about you. I can't reply to u comments on ur blog from the blackberry.

Song of the day, "Beat It" Michael Jackson.

Quote of the day, "let's just take the interstate, by the time we hit ATL, rush hour will be over" - Me

Yea right. But @ least rush hour today ran @20-40Mph and we feel pretty lucky ... Considering that traffic in the other direction was @ a dead darnbed stop!

We have lost some greats this month. David Carridane passed a few weeks ago. I never got to do an Eulogy on him, but I might. I don't know how to hyper link from the Blackberry, but if u jump over to Pole Hill, you will see that Doc has paid an excellent tribute to Ed Machmon. While you are there, pick up the link to Steve Audio's Blog. Stever has written a rather tasteful piece on the Passing Of Michael Jackson. I intend to pay the Mikester my own tribute but not now. I need to look some facts up first. I also have full intention of writting a piece on Farrah Faucets passing.

I have been a long time fan of Farrah's and only regret that she and Ryan O'neal never tied the knot.

I fully intend to meet my blog expextations soon.

We hit the road @ 10:50 est this am. And we are still driving. I don't know how this sentence got down here, but I am not about to delete n retype.

YEAS indeedy. We got the kidduns last night! We are so excited. I will splog the details laterz. My turn to ride n nap, we have made it to Calhpoun, Ga

PETA, Policy, Obama, and Smoking

I was reading over to Michelle's blog and I came across this piece of PETA. The summary of that is: PETA is up in arms about Obama swatting a fly. UM. OK. IMHO, I feel that PETA should be more up in arms about Korea and their missile testing. In the reality of things is that an entire ecosystem is at danger if the missile testing goes awry. I would think that PETA would be more interested in an entire ecosystem in danger then the life of a pesky fly. I firmly believe that PETA needs to pick fights they can win (hence picking on Obama about a fly and swatting it in the public eye and not in the privacy of his home) but on the other hand; I feel that PETA needs to pick fights that will benefit the greater good of the ecosystem. Maybe PETA cannot pick a fight with North Korea and win be successful at the outcome. However, PETA could focus its intentions on making the public aware of the damage of missile testing. Show the people what happens to ecosystems when they are flash fried by a bomb (be it nuclear or daisy or whatever) and what (if any) potential recovery of the said ecosystem can or will take place. I also feel that PETA could direct its energy beyond educating people on their actions and reconstructing devastating areas.

Seeing that Michelle brought up Obama, let us take a paragraph or two and speak about our president. I think there should be more attention drawn to Obama and his smoking habits as he signs the largest anti-smoking bill our nation has ever seen. I would rather see a special interest group up in arms about that. Being a smoker and all; or being that I am trying to quit smoking and Obama is a great role model for those of us that are trying to quit.

Wait let us stall on the role model part. Obama is a role model for an entire nation of African America children. He has given them the American Dream. One day I can be president. Obama has made that a possibility. Still stalled here, he has given hope to a great number of minorities and what they can do with their life. He has given the American people a reason to get up in the morning and be the best they can be and make the best out of what they have to work with.

Back to Barack and smoking; what you don't want to know is that he is falling off of the wagon (on a regular basis). But his falling off of the wagon concerns me. It is suppose to be OK because he doesn't smoke around the girls. It is NOT alright. He is doing it around the nation after he passes this bill to make smoking hell on the rest of us. So, it is suppose to be OK because the president of the United States of America is smoking and telling the rest of us to go broke and face jail time if we smoke or smoke around our kids. But he can do it. He is privileged to be making a triple digit income. He can afford to go broke smoking.

The other hand of this trite item is that the American People cannot afford to have a hypocrite for a president. It makes us look bad on a political stance. If our president will pass a bill and then admit the same day that he still is in violation of that bill himself, then what creditability does it give other countries to sign deals and contracts with our country? If he has enough balls's to violate his own policy then he has enough balls to renege on any deal with any country or government. That is all said in my humble opinion.

Cat Blogging

HI it is Friday.
Before I post today's picture, I just wanted to take a minute and give Liv Taylor two thumbs up! After reading this article I wish she had been present last summer when I was going thru all that crap with my cousins wife and her grand kids!

Now, I know who the culprit is that keeps making a mess with my tissues.

All things considered

Song of the day: "Frayed ends of Sanity" Metallica

Quote of the day: "I didn't ask for your help. I know how to hammer, paint, and cuss... I think I can do this myself!" Me to Eric about remodeling the kitchen.

The kitchen came up as a topic of conversation a few weeks ago. I did not bring up the topic (of the black cabnets with the silver interfacing) but it was brought up and Doc had made the comment that he didn't care if I did something else with them and this has led to conversations about the doors on more than one occasion. His beef with re-doing the kitchen cabnets is that they have been done 4 times in three years. My beef with re-doing them is that... well... they are not ... um... what I'd like to see on a regular basis.

Unfortunatly (and a lecture later) the cabnets came up at bible study. Now, I am not one to really care much about the opinions of others, but I am being told that I did speak out of line at church. Some ladies and I were talking about paint in general. I said I couldnt' wait to start stripping the kitchen cabnets. Doc heard this and made the comment that they'd been done 4 times. I looked right at him and informed him that I didn't recall asking for his help on this. And this sparked a small debate on the topic (whereas I made the above remark). What I didn't take into consideration (and 1 lecture later) was the fact that the Preacher was present and where the person I was talking to found the humor in it, the Preacher did not and neither did Doc.

Apologies.

Lu-Lu's birthday is on Sunday and she will turn three. I won't be there (planned that we will have a b-day party for her when she is back with us) and Doc and I went shopping tonight to get her a few b-day things to send down to Georgia for the party with grandma and pop-pa. I have mixed feelings about not being there.

It is not easy being away from the girls. I have not told them about the kitties and I bet they will be genuinely surprised. It was really hard not to tell them when I spoke to them on the phone yesterday too.

Thalia has made a mess around her cage while we were out today. The kittens made a mess in general. LOL. We have a pile of clothes on the bedroom floor. I have the contents of one room complete in the living room walkway. I am tired of chaos! It (believe it or not) don't fill the gap of the kids not being here!

Worried...

Potential names we are leaning on:

Boy- Alvin - as in Alvin and the chipmunks. Hmm I think the name says it all.

Girl- Shasta - Translates to little sweetheart

Kittens are sleeping. This is what worries me. Alvin is waging his tail and licking his chops.

Ugh!

My eyes are gritty and heavy and I mean heavy! I think I got a paint fume hangover!

Here is my cat blogging pic from yesterday. Doc was using the laptop and I was to tired to post it after he went to bed.

Don't let the cuteness fool you!

so yea, it happened

Song of the day: "Crazy" Aerosmith

Quote of the day: "...And since the medical care has made it more difficult to escape into bodily illness, they (the mentally challenged) choose mental illness..." Paul Tillich

Look, they went away and left me... So... I laid eggs
Photobucket

When they hatched I expected Cockatiels (much like myself) and out came this for a girl. Yea, I know, like... WTF... and where are the feathers?
Photobucket

So, then another egg went to popping around and hatching and I got all excited. Surely this weird cat like phenomenon would not happen twice. I peeked down, yes indeed, the emerging boy was grey, like his momma....
Photobucket
I blame that woman Jenn for this. It is all her fault that my homones are all messed up and I am laying Kittens instead of birds!

Around

Song of the day: "Silly Love Songs" Paul McCartney and Wings

Quote of the day: "Dear Monday, you win. I quit. Dear Tuesday, I'm coming for you. You have been warned." NYPiNTA via Twitter.

Today Doc said I could get the kitty cat I want. It is a rag-doll cat. We went to the town the lady who breeds them lives in and I called her and she never returned my call. I was so disappointed, esp seeing I'd spoken to her yesterday and she said she would be around all day. But we did go ahead and get the kitty litter and pan and kitty food... JUST in case I can get it tomorrow.

I want steak. I've wanted a big fat steak for a few days. A nice juicy and tender Rib-eye. Nothing more and nothing less. Gee I don't want much. I will most likely make baked potatoes with it but... GOSH... don't it sound good? I think maybe those little cabbage looking things... Can't remember what they are called. Brussels Sprout, maybe?

OK big decision ... do the dishes or go to bed. There is one pan left to wash and I don't feel like doing it. LOL.

I either got a spider bite on my left thigh or an ingrown hair. I noticed it when I took a shower a few minutes ago.

I miss my kids.

surgeons

Five surgeons from big cities were discussing who makes the best patients to operate on.

The first surgeon from New York said, "I like to see accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered." The second, from Chicago responded, "Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color coded."

The third surgeon, from Dallas said, "No, I really think librarians are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order" The fourth surgeon, from Los Angeles chimed in: "You know, I like construction workers... Those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over." But the fifth surgeon, from Washington, DC shut them all up when he observed: "You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on.

There's no guts, no heart, no brains and no spine, and, the head and the butt are interchangeable."

A few minutes of down time

This one is a little difficult to see it, but if you look above the darker tree line yoiu can see the rainbow that we drove through! Neat or what?

I saw this sign on the way up to Illinois and then I had the camera ready for when we came back to Tennesse. You just don't know what went through my head! I thought if nothing else, Michelle would like this picture.

We found the home of Superman. The name of their paper is also called, "The Daily Planet". I got a kick out of it.

Then a little closer to home, we have this town. It is on the way to Statesboro, Ga. We passed through it on the way to meet Philly for lunch. I took a picture of the store because there was too much traffic to stop on the highway and take a picture of the street sign (with the phone, lol, we didn't take the camera on this part of the trip.

Now we have a few days of down time. Which is good because I think we have both contracted a virus or cold or what have you. Doc went back to work last night. He came home coughing and blowing his nose. I coughed all night yesterday, I coughed so hard I vomited. Yea! Joking there. I got nothing done yesterday. Today I have managed to sweep the floor and clean some windows and the microwave and stove top. I am laying on the couch now. I slept from 4 am until 9 am and I am ready to go back to bed. I got Doc's dinner done and I think when he goes to work I am going to lie back down and try to get some sleep!
