Hey, well done!
BTW, this might send you crazy, but do you know, now that you've got the pictures to a size you're happy with, you can include them back in the original posts? Here's how.
1) Go to your blog's control screen and under the posting tab click "edit posts."
2) From the list of your posts, click on the entry that has the new pic in it. It will expand showing the post and the picture.
3) Click on the picture so that it is selected, then hit CTRL-C (together) to copy the picture.
4) Hit the brower's back button and you'll be back to your list of posts.
5) Click on the entry that had the picture in originally.
6) Click in the edit area, and then hit CTRL-Z (together) to paste the picture.
Hey presto, it's back in the original post. Repeat this for all you pics, and then you can delete the "dummy" posts you made that got the pictures onto your blog if you like.
Like I said, it might drive you mad, but it's a possibility. :)

7) Click publish post.
